Group/Division Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, IT - SAP to join our team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India as part of the Enterprise Technology Organization.

Position Summary:

In this role, you will lead the India SAP Center of Excellence team to deliver day-to-day excellence in service across all aspects of SAP, including incident management, enhancements, projects, training, and change and release management. You will work closely with business and IT leadership teams, serving as a trusted resource, bringing forth opportunities to demonstrate how SAP can support the efficient running and growth of our organization. As the SAP IT leader, you will be driving a coordinated approach to define, own, and implement the SAP strategy across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a large team of SAP professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of SAP projects, ensuring timely delivery, financial efficiency, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Handle day-to-day COE operations to ensure flawless execution of SAP initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget for SAP initiatives, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with SAP systems, ensuring appropriate controls, procedures, and backup strategies are in place.
  • Ensure smooth transitions by effectively planning and managing engagement with relevant parties, communicating key information, and providing necessary training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in SAP implementation and operations, preferably in the life sciences sector.
  • Successful management of end-to-end ERP implementations on a global scale using SAP.
  • Three to five years of leadership experience overseeing and guiding mid to large teams.
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships across business and IT.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project/program management certification, lean process improvement (i.e. Six Sigma) certification, and use of software tools, such as MS Project, Jira, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of financial, manufacturing, and supply chain operational process flows within the SAP ECC6.0 and S/4 HANA Environments.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate in diverse work environments, especially within cross-functional teams spanning different areas of the business.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and a focus on fostering positive relationships.
  • Ability to work remotely with business partners; travel as the need arises (up to 25%).
