How will you make an impact:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a multifaceted, qualified Director of IT to own the HR Technology Program Management Office. The ideal candidate will drive the design and adoption of a standardized project prioritization, planning and execution model, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). We are looking for a creative problem solver with a strong background in program management methodologies, resource optimization, and vendor management.

What will you do:
- Develop and drive adoption of a project delivery model for HRIT, including the creation of tools and templates.
- Lead a team of technical PMs responsible for the delivery of sophisticated HR technology initiatives using leading practice and standardized tools and templates.
- Support, monitor, and control the execution of projects in line with organizational goals and objectives.
- Optimize established prioritization, resource capacity and allocation models across the HRIT organization to improve efficiency.
- Lead all aspects of contract and Statement of Work (SOW) management, ensuring effective vendor management practices are in place.
- Lead the development and implementation of the HRIT framework for M&A activities, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Promote the principles of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) within the HRIT team, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and run project budgets to ensure efficient use of internal and external resources
- Lead assigned HR IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within the defined budget and with a high degree of quality.
How will you get here:
Education
A bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree preferred.
Experience
- 10 years of proven experience in project and/or program management, preferably in a leadership capacity.
- Strong background in leading Mergers & Acquisitions implementations.
- Excellent knowledge of program management methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead resources effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability negotiating contracts, cultivating relationships and leading vendors
- Confirmed experience as a people manager, with a strong ability to lead and develop hard-working teams.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and champion a culture of excellence.
- Strong domain expertise in HR process, data, and technologies (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors LMS, ServiceNow HRSD, etc.).
- Solid understanding of how HR Technologies exist within the broader business applications ecosystem, including how data and processes flow between systems.
- Strong tactical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong planning, coordination, mediation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate optimally with diverse groups including executives, managers, business partners and domain authorities.
- Domain expertise with various Workday modules (HCM, Recruiting, Time and Absence, Comp/Advanced Comp, Talent, Staffing, etc.)
- HR system implementation experience for HCM, ATS, HR Service Delivery, and Learning solutions.
- Awareness of industry solutions, evolving technologies and immerging trends, including automation and AI/GenAI.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $176,000.00-$264,050.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
