Job Description

Position Summary:

The Service Market Director is a key player in strategizing, implementing, and running successful services in the Electron Microscopy business for a specific market. This role is integral to both Market BU and Services business's strategic alignment. You will work with the Business Unit and Service leaders to align and implement strategies, prioritizing initiatives for success. You'll directly manage the Customer Success and Critical Management teams. This role reports to the Global VP of Services and indirectly to the Business Unit leader for the respective market.

Collaborate with Market Business Unit leaders and Service leadership to develop, align, and implement strategies.

Enhance value for Services and Business Units.

Identify market-related customer needs that Services can address and propose a path forward.

Unify commercial roadmaps among Products, Business Units, and Services.

Address customer concerns, ensuring high satisfaction within the assigned market.

Contribute solutions to market and customer challenges, taking ownership of execution.

Understand business challenges and engage the correct function to drive strategic success.

Champion alignment and collaboration between Business Units and Services, proactively planning for both functions' success.

Promote awareness and prioritization of Services strategy within the relevant Business Unit.

Bring expertise and industry knowledge within the relevant market space.

Serve as a liaison between services and the business unit, facilitating successful execution in support of Customer and business unit objectives.

Influence successfully within a matrix environment.

Support and represent Service growth strategies and implementation at the Business Unit level.

Work with Regional Service Leaders and Thermo Fisher Corporate Accounts to support account strategies within targeted segments for the appropriate market.

Foster alignment, collaboration, and clear roles & responsibilities between Corporate Accounts, Regional Service Leaders, Account Managers, Service Marketing, and BU leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Required degree: MBA or equivalent work experience.
  • Background in Services and/or Market is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in an applied industry, including service operations, marketing, sales, and business development.
  • Proven success in managing a P&L and leading businesses to profitable growth and market penetration.
  • Data-based analytical capabilities for making accurate assessments and developing clear strategies.
  • Ability to identify customer needs, provide solutions, and exceed expectations.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in an international environment.
  • Experience in a multinational company with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to achieve results.
  • Proven track record of delivering year-over-year results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience leading a diverse team.
  • Must be a highly motivated, self-confident, and inspirational leader.
  • Collaborative, open management style that encourages participation and contribution from others.
  • Must be able to travel globally up to 30% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Oregon is $145,500.00-$218,250.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
