Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is currently seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Clinical Sales Manager Central Europe. As a Clinical Sales Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement the sales vision and strategy for the Central (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) Clinical vertical. A day in the life:
- Identify core proficiencies of talent needed along with recruitment, deployment, and development of personnel resources to achieve plan targets.
- Consistently develop and promote teamwork and partnership.
- Coordinate career development of the Commercial Team.
- Run the activities of the Clinical sales teams to achieve the annual operating plan, including setting regional goals, developing sales metrics, driving activity to meet objectives, and running forecast accuracy.
- In partnership with Finance, develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, that align with the market penetration strategy.
- Listen to customers, capture feedback on opportunities and product development areas, and work with our global partners to resolve customer queries.
- Align specific proposals and offerings to company objectives by working with Leadership, Marketing, and local Account Managers.
- Lead or implement other activities as required by the company.
- Relentlessly attract and develop talent to deliver exceptional performance.
- Attract, hire, and develop outstanding, diverse talents to make the company culture stronger.
- Set clear performance expectations and hold individuals accountable for achieving desired results.
- Define and employ effective retention strategies to ensure team stability and focus.
- Provide open, timely, and concrete feedback to improve poor performance or misalignment of priorities.
- Recognize colleagues for outstanding performance.
- Actively engage in career management opportunities with team members to improve impact for both the individual and the company.
- Create an environment in which individuals feel valued and are encouraged and respected.
- Develop an organizational culture where individuals feel physically and emotionally safe and can raise difficult issues.
- Empower and encourage intelligent risk-taking.
- Assess local and broad business environments to understand negative drivers (e.g., turnover, morale, productivity) and ensure appropriate remediation plans are implemented.
- Understand the root cause of targeted organizational challenges and remove barriers to success.
- Align work priorities to business, functional, and company goals.
- Communicate a clear plan and motivate and mentor the organization to achieve goals and defined success metrics.
- Define reality and simplify complexity as appropriate.
- Prioritize and deploy resources.
- Minimum 10 years of sales, business development, or product marketing experience in the diagnostic market.
- Validated experience of delivering results through leading and developing managers and through building and influencing indirect reporting.
- Requirements:
- A degree level education is needed, with preference given where the degree subject has strong relevance to our business.
- Strong communications, both written and oral, and the self-confidence to use these skills to deliver the vision for the platform.
- Full professional proficiency in English, in addition to a local language.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and project ownership ethic with a "can do" personality.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including to domestic and international markets (minimum 50% travel).
- Demonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values - Integrity, Intensity, Involvement, and Innovation (The Four I's).
- Full driving license.
