Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase order (PO) processes, including creation, modification, and tracking of POs to ensure accurate and timely procurement.
  • Apply negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring cost savings and maintaining quality standards.
  • Conduct collaborative meetings with key suppliers to discuss metrics, forecasts, and ensure assurance of supply.
  • Perform supplier management activities.
  • Collaborate with raw material planners to ensure optimal raw material inventory health, including turns, DOS, E&O, SS, and consignment.
  • Address and resolve supply disruptions that have been escalated by the Materials Planning team, and handle any issues related to accounts payable (AP).
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement processes, standard work, and tools.
  • Maintain procurement master data in the ERP system, including lead-times, pricing, MOQs, safety stock, and min/max.
  • Lead all NPI (New Product Introduction) activities in collaboration with R&D and Planning to ensure successful supplier launch.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for supplier issues related to commercial and quality aspects.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality on supplier-related quality issues.
  • Embrace and apply the Procurement Toolbox to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Validated experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably within the plastics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, negotiation techniques, and purchase order management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Proven track record to work with little supervision, demonstrating self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, perform cost analyses, and drive productivity projects.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in procurement.
