Position Summary:

  • Handle a portfolio of products and suppliers in the dedicated category at European level.
  • Manage the inventory plan and purchase order process to enhance customer happiness and improve service levels while optimizing inventory investment.
  • Run and optimize Supplier delivery performance (link to customer experience).
  • Improve the quality of inventory by reducing exposure to non-productive/D&E inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in crafting and implementing new processes and refining existing ones to optimize time management.
  • Identify problems, produce, and analyze data to suggest accurate, sound decisions. Document solutions and bring up to senior buyers when vital.
  • Ensure service level targets (fill rate, availability) are met.
  • Understand company metrics and the impact of performance on results.
  • Effectively manage all purchasing and operational aspects of inventory management.
  • Establish and build effective relationships with suppliers and collaborators within the business.
  • Track shipments of purchase orders and take vital actions in case of unusual delays.
  • Manage the data flow through each stage of a purchase order - confirmation, estimated ship date, ASN, etc. Provide updates to changed delivery dates and ensure the orders are dispatched.
  • Review delivery times to improve and avoid shortages (predictive stockout).
  • Embrace and participate in PPI initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings to the business, and make recommendations for reports/process improvements (JDI).
  • Manage the processing of delivery issues from suppliers - short/over/wrong product/damaged, etc., in collaboration with different warehouses.
  • Contribute to the accuracy of the data in the system (raising tickets when needed).
  • Maintain a high level of internal customer service, supporting customer services and other business functions when required.
  • Manage and drive improved supplier performance using metrics. Manage the weekly calls with suppliers to review performance and initiate/manage get-well plans.
  • Be autonomous in supplier relationships, especially when negotiation skills are required (lead time management, performance review, stock return, direct shipment requests, etc.).
  • Be proactive by contributing to improving the supplier performance report.
  • Participate in the training of new team members.
