As a Business Development Associate (BDA), you will compete in a dynamic environment, helping to successfully implement strategies that drive growth and innovation. Your work will strictly determine the success of key client relationships.

The BDA focuses on representing and expanding our Viral Vector Services and Advanced Therapy business in the West Coast area . This is a dynamic role within our organization and is directly responsible to identify new clients and projects, generate new leads, and support our Business Development Executives (BDE) with clients in this respective area. The BDA builds an internal and external network that identifies new target clients, follows through on leads from a variety of sources, and supports transition of clients and newly created opportunities for the established team of lead BDEs in that territory.

A day in the Life:

  • New Business Development including finding opportunities with new clients through interaction with other Patheon teams and following up on leads while working with existing sales team BDEs to close new business.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Creating and implementing sales programs for new prospective clients to increase awareness of Patheon's service offering and key differentiators from our competition.
  • Identifying and communicating Patheon's value proposition, including opportunities for strategic bundling of Patheon services.
  • Supporting existing client facing BDEs in the territory in management of current opportunities and relationships
  • Customer Facing and Tele-con visits within your respective territory.

Education/ Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with limited experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 year experience performing and/or selling related services within the Biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Established in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry is a strong plus
  • Prior experience in sales or business development is helpful
  • Experience with CRM software and sales tools

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Professional presentation skills and ability to network within senior management ranks.
  • Dynamic and highly self-motivated individual
  • Ability to establish a functional, home office environment to efficiently handle assigned responsibilities.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in an office setting
  • Ability to travel extensively within the defined territory, as well as based on business need (trade shows, supporting site visits, attending team meetings etc.).

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $75,700.00-$113,500.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
