Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, No eye contacts allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing Technician I- Buffers and Media to join our world-class team in St. Louis. As a Manufacturing Technician I, you will play a pivotal role in the manufacture of Commercial and Clinical Biologics by adhering to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and performing a variety of tasks related to Buffer and Media manufacturing. A day in the Life:

  • Perform manufacturing batch record, work instruction, and/or SOP tasks with a proactive approach to ensure accurate execution. Provide support in batch record review and closure.
  • Assist in all department functions, such as maintaining supplies, equipment, logbooks, and data in accordance with site SOPs and policies.
  • Document all activities to meet cGMP requirements. Complete document reviews and revisions. Perform daily record reviews, tasks, and database updates.
  • Participate in shift exchanges, 1-1's, and meetings to facilitate area needs based on changes. Take a lead role in lean activities.
  • Support quality investigations by answering questions, assessment of concerns, and making suggestions for improvement.
  • Practice and promote safe work habits and implement safety procedures and guidelines.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of HS Diploma/ GED, 0-4 years' experience required based on education

Experience:

  • Experience in manufacturing and/or GMP environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of cGMP practices, aseptic techniques, or chemical concepts preferred

Skills:

  • Strong math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Passionate about achieving desired outcomes
  • Proficient in MS Office

Abilities:

  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Able to understand and carry out instructions

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Ability to wear a full gowning suit, including bodysuit, gloves, hair & beard nets, face covers, and safety glasses. (Prohibited items: makeup, jewelry, nail polish, cologne / perfume, scented lotions or hair care products, etc.)
  • Ability to adhere to cleanroom gowning requirements, including wearing Tyvek, Nitrile, and/or Latex gloves
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs independently
  • Ability to stand for 80% of the shift
