Job Description

Coordinates and assists in management of clinical trials within the scope of the department. Assists with the direction of technical and operational aspects of the food service. Communicates with Clinical Research Managers (CRMs), other assigned project staff, and various departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of nutrition services as they relate to clinical trials. Works to ensure that all nutrition services meet the Site's quality standards and expectations.

Essential Functions: • Attends all study protocol meetings to determine specific nutritional requirements. • Plans / develops / reviews menus to meet study protocol requirements / expectations. • Follows through with subject feedback and any concerns pertaining to the department and communicates issues to appropriate project staff and/or CRM for resolution. • Assists with food ordering, inventory, and scheduling as requested by department management. • Performs QC of production schedule prior to distribution. • Performs special projects, which may include quality audits, training manual preparation, preparation and conduction of study surveys, or assistance in the development of policies and procedures for staff. • Assists with data entry of production schedule as needed.

Education and experience:

High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification. Previous menu development experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0.5 to 2 years)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated knowledge of basic nutrition and dietary principles. • Demonstrated ability managing multiple responsibilities and completion of projects in either a work or school setting. • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn various programs and/or systems. • Strong communication skills. Ability to clearly explain information to a wide variety of individuals. • Ability to function with multiple types of individuals in potentially difficult or uncomfortable settings. • Strong attention to detail. • Strong planning and organization capabilities to manage multiple tasks and multiple study menu projects at one time. • Effective time-management skills.
