Job Overview
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is in need of an exceptionally skilled Associate Metrologist to join our world-class team in the United States. This outstanding opportunity allows you to work at the forefront of scientific innovation, ensuring flawless operation of laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on various cold storage, laboratory instrumentation and equipment under the direction of senior staff.
- Install, calibrate, and qualify both routine and remedial maintenance tasks with proven efficiency.
- Document all maintenance activities strictly in accordance with standard operating procedures and established schedules to meet stringent regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with lab staff to schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Train other team members on accurate equipment usage and maintenance protocols as needed.
- Work alongside Facilities team members to complete or coordinate facility repairs and maintenance with subcontractors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of FDA and GXP regulations and requirements
- Working knowledge and understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Working knowledge with systems in use at PPD or within the CRO/Pharmaceutical industry
- Basic troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills
- Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, clients and all levels of staff
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of laboratory equipment calibration and qualification.
- Excellent documentation skills to ensure all activities meet regulatory standards.
- Ability to successfully implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Technical positions may require a certificate.
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years).
In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
