Location/Division Specific Information

Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. A day in the Life:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all aspects of GMP lab's mass spectrometry/protein characterization lab operations.
  • Ensures productivity, efficiency and quality of the work are maintained and financial objectives of the business are achieved.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of laboratory processes for Mass Spectrometry team.
  • Ensures client deliverables and needs are met.

Education

Education and Experience: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, and experience.

5+ years of management responsibility Proven leadership skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of applying mass spectrometry techniques in a GMP environment.
  • Hands-on experience with high-resolution mass spectrometry for protein/biologics analysis is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory science, ICH guidelines, FDA regulations concerning laboratory processes in drug development process, method development, method validation, sample production and/or data processing
  • Strong leadership skills including budgeting, forecasting and fiscal management
  • Project and time management skills
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated strategic planning skillsIn-depth global and cultural awarenessStrong organizational agility and demonstrated drive for results
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
