What will you do?

As a Buyer and Logistics Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be part of our Production Chemicals and Services (PCS) team, an extension of our biopharmaceutical customers' supply chain management team. You will have the chance to contribute to the development and manufacturing of life-changing therapeutics, helping our customers mitigate risk, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and achieve the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the timely and accurate processing of purchase orders to meet inventory and customer requirements.

• Own purchase order maintenance, tracking questions and data integrity.

• Follow up with suppliers, making edits or changes to POs to meet minimum order quantity, correct errors, fill back orders, etc.

• Work closely with suppliers to meet customer order requirements, ensuring timely deliveries and appropriate item pricing.

• Monitor inventory stock and customer-dedicated inventory levels and recommend changes to inventory points as appropriate.

• Evaluate and select the best carrier for inbound less-than-truckload and truckload shipments.

• Work closely with inbound freight carriers to meet safety, service, and cost objectives.

• Coordinate with warehouse staff and vendors to resolve receiving discrepancies.

• Coordinate with accounting to resolve vendor invoice discrepancies.

• Coordinate with commercial operations and product management functions to resolve vendor pricing discrepancies.

• Evaluate and approve freight invoices for payment and reconcile any discrepancies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma with 2-3 years of experience within the purchasing, transportation, or logistics fields OR Bachelors Degree

• Ability to prioritize and lead multiple diverse projects with minimal direction.

• Shown success and ability to effectively interact with other teams within the Company such as Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, and Warehouse operations.

• Ability to appropriately represent Company to internal and external clients.

• Sense of priority and urgency

• Have a "Customer Service" approach to relationships with internal and external associates.

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Looks at change in a positive manner.

• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
