The Application Scientists (m/f/d) main responsibility is supporting the sales team and channel partners, primarily 60% of his time in the DACH region & 40% rest of Europe with complex technical questions and product demonstrations. The Application Specialist will also work closely with the commercial team to find opportunities for the Business Development in the high growth markets in the European region.

What you will do?

  • Represent our company in a positive, professional manner in all taking care of Thermo Fisher Scientific customers, both external and internal.
  • Conduct product presentations and test measurements, and develop solutions for non-standard applications in FTIR, Raman & NIR.
  • Report monthly opportunities and trends using score cards and bowlers
  • Supporting the sales organization in continuous growth of sales figures by providing excellent customer support.
  • Team up and share standard methodologies with the EMEA applications team

Keys to Success
Education

  • University degree in scient related field, preferably a Ph.D. in Chemistry!

Experience

  • Working experience in application support in industrial B2B environment is highly desired
  • Alternatively working experience in chemical or pharmaceutical industry or laboratory equipment business
  • Additional experiences in Business Development are an asset

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of Molecular Spectroscopy and related applications
  • Excellent interpersonal communication both written and oral in German and preferably a second language
  • Ability to work efficiently with customers and colleagues in difficult and stressful situations
  • Customer centric, intercultural competence, and a professional demeanor
  • Eagerness to travel (approx. 25 to 50%)
  • Valid driver's license
