Job Description

Thermo Fisher is seeking for an experienced and self-directed Agile Project Manager to join the Digital Enablement organization within GBS Enablement structure. In this role, you will work closely with development teams supporting the activities required to develop and launch new technology solutions (defining, building, testing and releasing). The Agile Project Manager will be the key liaison and communication bridge between the development teams and key partners from operational workstreams like OTC, RTR, PTP and CC and other enablement functions. An ideal candidate will be able to lead critical initiatives using a hybrid waterfall/agile framework. It is expected that this individual facilitates Agile ceremonies, run project scope and resources, and coordinate cross-functional technology teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, incorporating both Agile and Waterfall methodologies as appropriate to the project scope and requirements.
  • Preparing and supporting delivery of presentations to assist with program/initiative/portfolio status reviews to assist with program decision making.
  • Lead project scope, schedule, and resources, identifying risks and dependencies and proactively mitigating issues to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Implement, host and leads PI Planning ceremonies, Portfolio Backlog refinements, System Demos, Portfolio Syncs, Retrospectives and other agile ceremonies.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Development resources, and other Agile roles to ensure alignment and smooth functioning of Agile teams.
  • Develops and maintains relationships withing and outside of the organization to achieve project goals.
  • Prepares post-project assessment, compiling lessons learned and suggests improvements to the new process.
  • Collaborate closely with partners, and agile teams defining project objectives, requirements, results, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams assigning tasks, tracking progress, and facilitating communication to ensure collaboration and accountability.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and reporting to customers, providing updates on project progress, achievements, and key results.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to agile team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Certified SAFe® (LPM, SA, PO/PM / Scrum Master) or other relevant Agile certifications
  • Proven experience in program management in both using Agile and Waterfall approaches (5+ years), preferably in a technology or business transformation environment.
  • Hands-on experience in Agile coaching
  • Strong understanding of Agile practices, scrum, and DevOps culture.
  • Demonstrated efficiency with technology tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Github.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire change at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and implement organizational organisational change results to help the company navigate through major change initiatives and drive overall adoption.

Other preferred Qualifications:

  • Data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, Quicksight or similar (familiarity with PowerBI preferred)
  • Familiarity with data modeling in large Data warehousing, data lake environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Understanding of ETL software, such as Alteryx and Knime
  • Familiarity with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and Alteryx is a plus.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
