Our Customer Channel Group is looking a Credit Control Representative M/F, based in our Lisbon office (Porto Salvo).

Position Summary:

Within the role of Credit Controller you will primarily be responsible for the following:

  • Maintenance of existing credit accounts
  • Credit risk assessment, and periodic review and corrective action on existing accounts
  • Cash collection in line with agreed targets
  • Reduction of DSO and over 60 day debt to agreed targets
  • The administration of the section of the sales ledger under your control.
  • Actively liaising with External customers, Customer Service & Account Managers to resolve queries and disputes to ensure all debts are paid to terms
  • Monthly reporting on the ageing detail of accounts under your control
  • Cash allocation
  • Ability to manage high volume, and high value accounts
  • Any other ad-hoc credit control related duties as requested by line management
  • Effectively perform your duties whilst acting at all times in accordance with the Dignity at Work Policy, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and our values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.
  • Embrace and participate in PPI initiatives to identify process improvements and cost savings to the business.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications :

  • Idealy, you have 2 years experience in credit control
  • Skills, knowledge and competence required to drive significant achievement of credit control objectives in changing economic circumstances
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally
  • Good administration skills
  • Knowledge of litigation processes and procedures

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • You are native in Portugese, and proficient in English (spoken understood, written). Proficient in Spanish would be a plus.
  • Skills, knowledge and competence required to drive significant achievement of credit control.
  • Minimum of 2 years Credit Control experience, including Risk Assessment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EDI platforms and end to end processes
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive internal and external facing customer relationships to foster collaboration and continued process improvement
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting packages; competent in the use of Microsoft Excel (advanced level), including Vlookup and Pivot tables. Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Experience of Cash Allocation on ERP
  • Someone who contributes ideas, disagrees tactfully, shares success and actively listens
