Position Objective:
You will be responsible for driving the growth of the OEM business. This involves acquiring new customers, expanding with existing ones, and representing all relevant product categories in Biosciences, including molecular-, protein-, and cell biology for commercial use applications. Your actions should align with our growth expectations established in the annual operating plan.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Design and implement a territory plan for OEM and commercial supply in the assigned region, aligning with the business unit's strategies and local market priorities.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities within the account base and geographical territory to supply the Biosciences division's products and capabilities to other companies for commercial use.
  • Develop productive client relationships in multiple functions and at multiple levels.
  • Manage relationships, agreements, forecasting, and pipeline activities for a set of accounts within the geographical territory.
  • Align, assist, and occasionally coordinate cross-functional teams to complete prioritized business opportunities, including sales, manufacturing, legal, licensing, marketing, R&D, etc., in EMEA and the US.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and business unit partners to develop business/partnership frameworks for long-term, mutually beneficial customer partnerships. Make informed judgments of value to the customer to develop financial terms for highly customized products.
  • Understand and act in accordance with applicable licenses and intellectual property, and monitor and lead contracts and client relationships, possibly coordinating with our in-licensing team.
  • Coordinate support to fulfill client needs, respond to inquiries, and resolve problems in a timely manner, investigating product issues and ensuring satisfactory resolution of customer complaints.

Nature and Scope of Position:

  • Exercise high-level judgment on selecting accounts to target for strategic relationships.
  • Successfully collaborate with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization, including senior executives.
  • Effectively negotiate with and influence potential clients, partners, and internal colleagues.
  • Be highly motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal direction, with the ability to work on multitask and shift priorities effectively.

Minimum Qualifications (Must Have):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any life science field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant commercial experience, including identification, validation, and execution of strategic business opportunities and market research.
  • Sound knowledge of Molecular-, Protein-, and Cell Biology, and ideally, of Biosciences product offerings within this space.
  • Previous experience in working well in an international team and matrix environment.
  • High proficiency with computer applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and local language, with strong writing, articulating, and listening skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Advanced scientific degree, such as an MBA, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of biotech and diagnostics segments market trends.
  • Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of intellectual property, patents, and contract law.
  • Proven ability to lead teams without being the manager both internally and externally.

Working Conditions:

  • Willing to work varying schedules and hours as needed, due to frequent communication with teams in the US.
  • Infrequent travel required (up to 10-20%), operating from a Thermo Fisher office.
