Account Manager Scientific Research

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Account Manager to join our Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD). As an Account Manager, you will play a key role in selling and supporting all CMD products. Your main focus will be on building and maintaining strong relationships with our valued customers, who are at the forefront of research and development in various fields.

The Thermo Fisher Scientific CMD portfolio covers a broad range of analytical instruments, consumables and services.

  • Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
  • Liquid Chromatography, (U)HPLC
  • Ion Chromatography, (IC)
  • Trace Elemental Analysis (ICP-OES, ICP MS)

What You'll Do

  • Maintain effective and long-lasting customer relationships
  • Identify and prioritize new client opportunities
  • Develop strategies to drive account expansion and renewals
  • Provide sales expertise, guidance, and assistance
  • Collaborate with internal resources to determine the best technology solutions
  • Negotiate contracts and close orders
  • Conduct product evaluations to demonstrate value
  • Drive organic growth and increase market share
  • Lead sales strategies to meet and exceed objectives
  • Maintain awareness of competitor and industry activity

Our Team

You will be part of an enthusiastic and customer-focused team, working closely with other account managers as well as technical sales specialists and sales support colleagues. We believe in collaboration and provide a supportive environment for you to succeed.

What We're Looking For

  • Preferably, proven sales experience in the analytical instrument market
  • Dutch and English speaking is essential
  • Must have valid driving license (car not essential)
  • Bachelor's degree in the sciences or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business dynamics and a strong motivation to acquire new customers
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Sharp attention to detail and ability to meet project timelines
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills (Dutch and English)
  • Ability to explain and sell technical aspects of our product portfolio
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations (up to 80%, may include overnight travel)
