About the Internship
The Project and Asset Management Division (PAMD), provides oversight and drives project delivery from conception to completion to ensure projects, in their respective programs, adhere to the determined scope and stay within the approved budget and schedule. PAMD is responsible for efficient portfolio management of projects including identifying, prioritizing, and organizing projects in conjunction with Facility Operations, Maintenance and Engineering; serving as a liaison between departments on project delivery issues; and maintaining overall program-level responsibility for Capital, Capital Major Works Program (CMWP) and operating and Agency Major Maintenance (AMMP) Programs. In addition, PAMD is responsible for establishing and maintaining program-level scope, cost and schedule controls and directing program and project management.

The PAMD also includes an asset management and maintenance planning function which includes the implementation of an automated IBM Maximo asset management system to maintain and manage all of the World Trade Center (WTC) operational assets and systems safely and efficiently. Asset Management allows for informed decision-making to maximize the useful life of WTC assets while minimizing costs, providing transparency to service providers' preventive maintenance and corrective action processes, and understanding service delivery and labor information for contract negotiation.
Additionally, the division coordinates with the Construction Management Division (CMD) regarding turnover of assets and facilities at the WTC, particularly when those assets and facilities transition from construction sites to operating assets that are accessible to the public.
Responsibilities
- Assist the WTC Department's Project and Asset Management Division (PAMD) program and project managers in establishing project scope, schedule, and budget, that will include documenting project requirements, preparing presentation material, meeting with operational staff, performing field and back-of-house space visits, writing meeting notes and gathering background information and project supporting documents.
- Assist with WTC facility asset management activities (namely IBM Maximo application), that includes collecting, compiling asset data and performing data entry. The candidate may be requested to prepare sketches, drawings, analysis and draft papers.
- Assist in capital and operating project development and delivery process for the WTC facilities, in addition to project transitioning from the construction phase to the operational phase.
- Identify and organize projects in conjunction with Facility Operations and Engineering;
- Serve as a liaison between departments on project delivery issues; and
- Maintain overall business responsibility for Capital and Operating Major Works Programs with Project Management and develop core team members to deliver and implement the projects within these programs throughout the project life cycle.
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
- Major in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field
- Candidate will be required to obtain a Secure Worker Access Consortium (SWAC) ID, with associated security clearances and NDA to obtain a WTC Site access Badge, immediately upon hiring
- The assignment will involve site-walks on WTC campus to back of house facilities, visit to construction sites, and field exposure that will consist of site inspection, tours, etc.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Adobe, Bluebeam and AutoCAD
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations and public speaking
- Basic understanding of Engineering and Architectural concepts of design preferred (mechanical, electrical, civil, transportation and architecture)
- Ability to effectively set priorities, effectively manage tasks assigned, organize work activities, manage time, and multitask to achieve goals
- Willingness to learn
Internship Details
- The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
- The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
- This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
- The format is expected to be in-person

Compensation & Benefits
- The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $29.57 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
