About the Internship
The Office of Continuous Improvement's mission is to collaborate with departments across the Port Authority to dramatically improve business processes and meet internal and external expectations. Our priorities include working with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing the customer experience, building a culture that fosters innovation, collaboration and accountability, and institutionalizing a continuous improvement mindset and practices.
Responsibilities
- Support the identification, development, implementation, and tracking of continuous improvement initiatives across multiple Port Authority departments and facilities
- Past intern projects have included: design + implementation of customer experience surveys, data dashboard development, and facilitating strategy development sessions
- Collect, analyze, and present data related to continuous improvement and customer experience initiatives
- Develop resources and training materials to share continuous improvement methodologies with employees
- Prepare reports or presentation based on findings from data analyses, customer surveys, and/or stakeholder workshops.

Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
- Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
- A cover letter accompanying this application
Desired Qualifications
- Self-starter with excellent communication, analytical, and technical skills
- Demonstrated experience working with collaborative teams and facilitating conversations with diverse groups of stakeholders
- Ability to collect, analyze, and visualize data using Excel, Power BI, or similar programs
- Familiarity with workflow or process automation tools such as Power Automate
- Experience and interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Process improvement (e.g., Agile, Lean, Scrum)
- Change management
- Data analytics
- Design thinking / user experience
Internship Details
- The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
- The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
- This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
- The format is expected to be hybrid, with 3 days/week in the office

Compensation & Benefits
- The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $29.57 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
