Description
Interns with the Office of Media Relations get a firsthand look at how one of the country's busiest transportation agencies interacts with the country's most dynamic news media environment. Interns will gain hands-on experience with: drafting media communications; writing and reporting stories that offer a unique look at Port Authority projects and initiatives; and going behind the scenes at the facilities that keep the New York/New Jersey region moving, whether that infrastructure is the world's busiest bridge, the world's busiest bus terminal, one of the region's four commercial airports, bridges and tunnels, bistate commuter rail, or shipping terminals. This is an exceptional opportunity for students pursuing a public sector career or future employment in communications, journalism, or public relations to engage in meaningful work at an agency in the midst of several transformative projects. The Office of Media Relations tells the Port Authority's story to the world, and we're looking for interns who are curious about how infrastructure drives the metropolitan New York City area and are energized by that responsibility.
