About the Internship
The Operations Service Department (OSD) is a central service provider that advances and supports core business needs and overall agency goals and objectives. These services include maintenance of the automotive fleet, dining services, general staff support services, centralized maintenance support of our facilities, and ensuring the safety, fire protection, and occupational health of the public we serve and our employees.
Responsibilities
- Work on process improvements utilizing Microsoft's products such as SharePoint, Flows, PowerApps, Power BI.
- Work with construction personnel and engineers to design repairs and projects around the agency
- Write RFIs (requests for information) to designers to get clarification on construction projects
- Assist with construction project budgets, schedules, and estimates
- Help prepare turnover documents to obtain PTOs (Permits to Occupy/Certificates of occupancy)
- Perform internal construction inspections to ensure compliance with all specifications, best practices, and designs
- Update inventory of the entire FCSD motor vehicle fleet, materials, tools, and equipment. This will include working closely with our FM-3 equipment supervisor and traveling to the various facilities where we keep our vehicles.
- Data entry of completed work orders into Maximo/RDMS for Sign Shop

Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
- Major in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong experience using personal computers, including Microsoft Products: SharePoint, Lists, Power BI, PowerApps, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.
- Previous experience with non-MMIS computerized maintenance management systems (such as Enviance, Maximo, Asset Works M5, or others) is a plus.
- Ability to interact effectively with various levels of PA staff and the general public.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to understand and be able to integrate customer service needs into day-to-day decision-making.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Internship Details
- The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
- The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
- This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
- The format is expected to be fully in-person

Compensation & Benefits
- The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $29.57 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
