About the Internship
The Office Space & Property Management (OSPM) oversees the operation of the Port Authority's economic development and waterfront portfolio, which includes the management of 21 buildings, consisting of over 4 million square feet of space across multiple facilities, as well as the management and day-to-day operations of approximately 1.4 million square feet of Agency office space, occupied by approximately 2,500 Port Authority employees. OSPM is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of all required structural, vertical transportation and fire/life safety inspections. OSPM conceptualizes and advances development opportunities, including enhanced revenue initiatives, as well as disposition of non-core assets, community revitalization, job generation, and increased use of public transportation. OSPM provides for the management of office renovations, relocations, construction, interior design (furniture) and Port Authority standards for all Port Authority facilities and leased properties. OSPM's goal is to manage these facilities in a safe, efficient, cost-effective manner that encourages staff productivity. OSPM seeks to implement sustainability initiatives that reduce energy consumption and costs.

Responsibilities
- Assists with the collection, loading, standardization, and identification of relevant data for analysis
- Communicate analyses findings to your team members through visuals, data tables and models
- Build statistical learning models to detect patterns and trends among relevant business issues
- Work with the latest innovative tools such as SharePoint in Microsoft 365, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI
- Perform data collection, spreadsheet creation and data analysis
- Project management services for process improvement and solutions
- Attend meetings and provide feedback on existing maintenance practices and procedures
- Coordinate between internal and external stakeholders to manage projects
- Assist with review of labor agreements for facility operations and maintenance staff
- Assist with code compliance related documentation (fire life safety, structural integrity, vertical transportation)
- Participate in continuous improvement projects as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft: Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Power BI
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Excel
- Knowledge of standard web design and development tools
- Ability to quickly learn new development tools
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Basic understanding of concepts of design preferred (civil, transportation, architecture and/or urban design)
- Self-motivated with strong work initiative and attention to detail
Internship Details
- The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
- The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
- This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)
- The format is expected to be enter hybrid

Compensation & Benefits
- The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $29.57 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
