About the Internship
The Aviation Department is looking for a summer intern to join their Concessions & Strategic Customer Experience team.
The Aviation Department is responsible for managing one of the most dynamic airport systems in the world, comprising LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy, Newark Liberty, and New York Stewart airports. In addition to meeting the challenges of day-to-day operations, the Aviation Department is committed to being a world-class operator of world-class airports and has undertaken an ambitious and unprecedented redevelopment and airport improvement program which will position our airports to thrive well into the 21st Century. The Concession & Strategic Customer Experience team manages a portfolio of over 200 lease agreements and over 600 concession locations, with a mission to deliver a world class shopping and dining experience to our airport customers.

Responsibilities:
- Assist Aviation Concessions Unit with collecting critical documentation from external and internal stakeholders to facilitate agreement execution and record keeping.
- Assist with entering concessions contracts and agreements data into the Port Authority's finance and real estate management system.
- Provide valuable insight and feedback on the coordination of current concessions contracts, information systems, and management practices.
- Work with Senior Concessions Agreement Coordinator to prepare new agreements, receive security deposits requirements, issue insurance certificates compliance memos. The intern will liaise with internal stakeholders including Law, Risk Management, and Financial Planning.
- Engage with the broader Aviation Concessions Unit to collaborate in creating a world class concessions programs across all Port Authority Airports
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester
- Major in Law, Business/Management, Information Management, and/or Transportation
Desired:
- Demonstrates problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to notice errors without getting lost in the detail.
- Experience creating and interpreting Microsoft Excel reports, including use of pivot tables and formulas.
- Strong organizational skills and interest in file and information management
Internship Details:
- The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025
- The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025
- This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day)
- The work format is expected to be hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days remote)

Compensation & Benefits
- The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $30.31 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
