About the Role
The chosen candidate will report to the Manager of Design Standards Unit, Quality Assurance Division, Engineering Department and will be under the direct supervision of the Assistant Manager. The successful candidate will be a Senior Engineer Project Manager for the Project Processing Specialist and will be responsible for pre-viewing construction documentation for tenant projects at Port Authority facilities to ensure compliance with applicable construction codes and Port Authority technical standards.

- Pre-view of construction documents for tenant projects (TAA) and design audit (redevelopment capital work) and assigned project processing for Port Authority (PA) facilities to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and Port Authority technical standards.
- Digital retrieval and document management of the electronic TAA submissions.
- Analyze and review drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and completeness specifications in accordance with codes and standards.
- Coordination of the review comments from other technical disciplines.
- Prepare Memoranda for transmitting comments to the Port Authority facilities (Line Departments).
- Assign various technical disciplines for code review.
- Communicate with PA facilities to process TAA and design audit projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years of diverse experience in building codes and systems.
- Professional Engineer's license in State of New York and/or New Jersey is preferable
Desired Qualifications
- Proper understanding of architectural/engineering disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities.
- Strong and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Comfortable acting as liaison between PA Tenants & Facilities and in-house application reviewers to ensure streamlined workflow.
- Comprehensive computer skills, such as: MS Suite proficiency.
- Demonstrates the ability and interest to learn various in-house and external software / programs. (Ex. SharePoint, e-Builder / Trimble, etc.)
