About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Network Infrastructure, the successful candidate will manage complex network infrastructure and capital projects within LaGuardia Airport (LGA) while providing backup support for John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This role involves overseeing landside and terminal projects, ensuring seamless communication between critical business applications, and supporting the integration of new infrastructure into existing airport operations.

Responsibilities

  • Leading networking, airport redevelopment, and construction projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Coordinating with engineering, operations, construction teams, external stakeholders, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and work plans, addressing the complexities of aviation environments.
  • Ensuring compliance with contract award plans, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Identifying and assessing potential project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and escalating critical issues when necessary.
  • Facilitating regular project meetings, documenting action items, and tracking progress against objectives.
  • Ensuring effective stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing project documentation to align with industry and organizational standards.
  • Supporting the integration of network infrastructure and technology solutions to enhance airport operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience leading complex capital and IT infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of networking design concepts, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and data center network environments.
  • Experience in project risk management, cost-benefit analysis, and lifecycle cost assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience using project management tools.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with experience presenting to executive management and stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to commute to and between JFK and LaGuardia airport locations.
  • Ability to work during non-business hours during emergency situations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with infrastructure cabling.
  • Experience with basic AC power specifications.
  • Background in network infrastructure, communication and IT trouble shooting.
  • Experience with Cisco manufactured routers and switches.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Knowledge of Port Authority policies, procedures, and capital authorization processes, including Board and Contract Authorizations.
  • Experience with alternative procurement strategies and regulatory compliance within aviation and construction environments.
  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex project strategies aligning with airport operations, maintenance, facilities, and asset management.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
