The Muse Group tech team is looking for a Software Engineer to join our squad, to work on products designed to unite job seekers with a great job. You will spend your time between front end and back end code, writing services, user interfaces, and more for our two brands, Fairygodboss.com and Themuse.com.
We are looking for applicants with experience in both javascript and python. Familiarity with react, typescript, and django are all a plus. Some familiarity with cloud architecture, microservices, async and data streaming concepts is also helpful.
We primarily use React, Next.js, Typescript for our front end applications, with FastAPI, Django, Python, Node, AWS, and PostgreSQL for the services and other applications. We also rely on Docker, CircleCI, and Github for our workflow.

We work remotely and are looking for teammates who can work primarily during our business hours of 9-6pm (GMT-5).
Job functions
-You will work closely with technical and product team members in an iterative, scrum-based process for features and products.
-You’ll build new features that millions of users will see and love.
-You’ll be working with the team to release modern, lean, well-built web applications that grow and improve every day.
-You’ll be an active contributor to the overall team process improvements and internal standards and guidelines.
Qualifications and requirements
-You have 3-5 years of professional experience.
-You build scalable solutions with javascript and python
-You have confidence in your work and are secure in shipping code frequently.
-You understand and practice clean code principles, such as SOLID, DRY, and YAGNI, and how to apply them to the problems at hand.
-Everyone loves a green field, and you’ll get that too. But code can rot, so we all pitch in to weed tech debt out of the garden.
