As the Traffic Manager, you will work closely with account executives, copywriters, art directors, and video editors/animators. You will have the most comprehensive view of projects, capacity, and the overall pace of creative work. Your exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication will ensure that deadlines are met, and processes run smoothly. Experience with project management platforms is a plus, but your ability to quickly learn and adapt will set you apart.
Key abilities:
- Ensure smooth workflow and efficient resource management within the department.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues before they arise.
- Maintain a constant awareness of project status and potential risks.
- Take initiative to address issues, even if they fall outside of explicitly defined tasks.
- Serve as a go-to resource for both creative and account service teams.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and a can-do attitude in getting tasks done.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find solutions quickly.

Responsibilities:
- Co-manage daily traffic meetings to discuss project schedules and workflow with Account Service and creative leadership.
- Collaborate with traffic department members to open agency jobs, confirm necessary inputs, and assign tasks and schedules.
- Monitor project volume and proactively manage workflow, deadlines, and time allocation.
- Review daily workloads with creative team members and adjust assignments to balance workloads and ensure appropriate talent usage.
- Adjust job schedules and tasks to align with specific project requirements while managing overall workload.
- Ensure creative team members are aware of their assignments and due dates.
- Act as a mediator between Account Service members to establish and re-evaluate priorities based on project volume and flow.
- Inform Account Services when client contact is required for approvals or asset gathering.
- Support project completion by trafficking work to external vendors and coordinating external productions.
- Proactively communicate with key team members regarding deadline status and any issues needing attention.
- Create and share daily, weekly, and monthly reports on projects, resource allocation, and deadlines with team leadership.
- Works with cross function teams and serves as primacy point of contact for working with procurement and external vendors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 1-3 years of experience as a traffic manager, assistant account manager, or project manager at an in-house or external ad agency.
- Experience managing and coordinating video, print, digital, and collateral projects.
- Familiarity with the key stages of creative project development, production, scheduling, and resourcing.
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems before they arise.
- Highly effective communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt and manage through changes in project volume and pace.
- Experience with project management systems preferred; Workfront application experience is a plus.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$73,200 - $109,800
