This role will be based in London, UK and you are required to have the necessary right to work details prior to application.

The purpose of the Syndicate Credit Controller is to manage and facilitate aged debt for The Hartford companies and is responsible for administration of the cash receipts and credit control of the new Lloyd's Singapore branch.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports directly to Syndicate Credit Control Manager.
  • Works in close co-operation with team colleagues.
  • Working in a growing organisation to lead up towards liaising with different individuals across the organization in London / Singapore / Hong Kong and the US.

Job Responsibilities & Competence

  • Work with our colleagues in Singapore, Hong Kong and London to facilitate the Aged Debt.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with Brokers and colleagues.
  • Keep the Underwriting teams and credit control manager appraised of outstanding collections.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Underwriters.
  • Arrange meetings with more problematic brokers.
  • Assist Syndicate Credit Control Manager with ad hoc tasks when required.

Procedures

  • Ensures that all policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Adhere to any common standards set across the company and ensures that policies and procedures are adequately documented.
  • Undertake continued Professional Development and comply with The Hartford procedures

  • Proven ability to learn quickly.
  • Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of Insurance and related issues through formal and informal learning.
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team player with ability to work on a stand-alone basis.
  • Flexible, driven and self-motivated.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience of identifying and implementing better processes.

Experience

  • Credit control experience
  • Preparation/understanding of aged debtors/creditors report

Desired system experience

  • Xchanging/Velonetic systems (Lloyds Account Enquiry, Tracker & IMR).
  • Excel Intermediate.
  • Subscribe.
  • Image Right.
