This role will be based in London, UK and you are required to have the necessary right to work details prior to application.
To negotiate, underwrite and develop a profitable portfolio of Power & Renewables business and offer outstanding service to our brokers and customers. To play a key role in supporting The Hartford's stated aim of being The Insurer of the Transition.

- Use granted underwriting authority to support the delivery of the Power & Renewables business plan. Assist in producing the annual business plan and actively contribute to the strategic direction of the portfolio
- Develop and research business opportunities both through London Market brokers and Hartford International Offices
- Use technical expertise to select and underwrite profitable new opportunities for the portfolio and ensure the future retention of existing clients
- Work with engineering to analyse account risk management features, benchmark sectors and technologies and keep abreast of industry developments
- Keep appraised of individual claims and trends within the portfolio and to liaise with the claims team as necessary to ensure appropriate settlement of claims, including 'lessons learned' outcomes with the claims and engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with The Hartford's best practice, underwriting policies and controls and Lloyd's regulations at all times
- Assist in further development of systems for the monitoring and reporting of aggregate exposures
- Support the development and ongoing review of technical pricing models
- Support the monthly reporting to management on developments in the Power and Renewables markets including detailed portfolio updates
- Contribute, as required, to the quarterly and annual reporting of underwriting results
- Participate as required in various committees, including underwriting, engineering, operations and risk management
- Help to mentor and educate more junior team members as required
- Support thought leadership activities through the attendance and/or active participation at conferences and client events
Qualifications & Capabilities
- To possess an in-depth knowledge of the Power Generation and Renewable Energy business
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload
- Good analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Team player with the ability to work on a stand-alone basis
- Good communication skills
- Experience of identifying and implementing improved internal processes
