Middle and Large Commercial IT is seeking a dedicated Scrum Master to be a servant leader and coach for our MLC Agile Scrum Teams. This role focuses on execution while applying robust Agile practices, including adherence to metrics, leadership skills to drive key roadmap initiatives, and risk management. The Scrum Master will also play a crucial role in driving program-level continuous improvement. In addition to facilitating team-level events, the Scrum Master is responsible for keeping both team members and business and technology leaders informed of progress against objectives.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and support two Scrum Teams by fostering Agile values and practices.
- Ensure team adherence to Agile principles and provide coaching on executing the Scrum framework.
- Organize and facilitate ceremonies, identify improvement opportunities, and track team progress.
- Remove impediments to progress and protect the team from outside influences.
- Partner with the Product Owner to prioritize backlog items based on business value.
- Facilitate daily stand-up meetings, demos, and decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
- Understanding of software development processes and iterative development.
- Proficiency in Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, etc.
- Resource management skills to determine supply and demand and obtain necessary resources.
- Effective communication, consultative, and coaching skills.
- Quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to build strong partnerships across segments and functions.
- Business acumen and strategic thinking.
AI and Generative AI Knowledge Requirements:
- Assess and mitigate risks (such as bias) in AI-generated outputs.
- Experience with tools like GitHub Copilot.
- Continuous learning to stay updated with advances in generative AI and best practices.
- AI-enhanced data analysis using tools like Microsoft Copilot in Power BI.
- Awareness of ethical implications of AI, including bias detection and mitigation.
- Knowledge of AI tools and techniques for improving team performance and productivity.
- Practical experience with AI applications in Agile management.
- Familiarity with ethical AI practices and compliance with industry norms.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$108,800 - $163,200
