The Hartford's Group Benefits organization is looking to transform its data exchange capabilities and processes. The Sr Business Analyst will partner with product owners to achieve business outcomes being delivered as part of the Data Exchange program.

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced individual who is responsible for gathering business requirements, documenting as user stories, as well as working closely with developers and testers to ensure business expectations are met.

Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, ability to partner with business and IT stakeholders and associated agile team. In addition, candidates are expected to demonstrate solid business acumen as well as experience in agile feature and user story refinement.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office location 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Participates in the gathering, analysis, and documenting of business requirements.
  • Ability to organize and synthesize information provided by stakeholders to enable the project team to implement a solution that meets expectations.
  • Ability to structure and drive working and informational sessions that promote collaboration, achieve synergy, and desired outcomes.
  • Acts as liaison between the business and IT with the ability to translate business to IT functional and nonfunctional requirements.
  • Aides team members' requirements solicitation efforts through help selecting approaches and identification of gaps / areas to explore.
  • Mentors team members to drive awareness of new approaches and improve execution of known techniques.
  • Identifies effectiveness of facilitation techniques on the fly and adjusts approach properly.
  • Identifies and challenges teams for continuous improvement ideas and supports the agile team during sprinting, testing, and production implementation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline required, with an advanced degree preferred, and at least five experience in a Business Analyst role
  • Experience working in an Agile or SAFe program environment.
  • Experience working with SQL is required.
  • Proven organization skills with the ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present confidently in a group setting. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audience. Experienced facilitator with strong presentation skills.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working as a part of scrum team and as willingness to jump in assist team whenever possible to meet spring goals and deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization (e.g. entry level end-user through to Senior Management) and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinking skills. Ability to provide options and assess solutions, looking at the business holistically.
  • Experience and or exposure to Group Benefits, Claims and The THAA systems a plus.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$96,080 - $144,120
