Description

Cloud Services Team is searching for a Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer with a strong background in Storage and Backup Technologies. The team is accountable for the operations, engineering, and governance of Backup and Storage in a multiple cloud environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in a mix of strategy and hands-on work. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable working with teammates at all levels of the organization including leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of IT services as it relates to Cloud backup and DR and Cyber recovery
  • Drive improvement, through automation, of software delivered as a service from an efficiency and simplicity perspective
  • Work with IT Architects to ensure that modified IT Service interacts appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements of the service/project
  • Provide clear operational documents and construction/support specifications to IT Operation organizations
  • Consult with customers on any new requirements or design questions or functionality configurations for environments on and off premise
  • Delivers the tooling and capabilities needed to enable cloud compliance, metrics and reporting and cost management roadmap and strategy.
  • Participate in incident resolution as necessary

Qualifications

  • Requires hands on and working knowledge to support Rubrik, AWS, and NAS/SAN storage
  • Required skills include Unix servers and scripting, network and firewall concepts, GitHub, Ansible, application troubleshooting
  • Good understanding of block, object, and file storage solutions
  • Brings a thorough understanding of DevSecOps, Agile methodologies with proficiencies in building infrastructure through enterprise grade cloud deployments and operations through programmable infrastructure as a code (IaC)
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic thinking skills, with a focus on DR and Cyber recovery. Ability to provide options and assess solutions, looking at the business holistically
  • Understanding of current and emerging IT products, services, processes, and methodologies
  • Knows how applications should be engineered by following fault tolerant best practices, separation of duties, observability, and being operator friendly.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform required.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) from Hartford, CT. Charlotte, NC. Chicago, IL. or Columbus, OH.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$136,000 - $204,000
