The ideal Risk Engineering candidate will be technical, self-motivated, strategic, and creative; successful with the management and delivery of risk engineering survey and service work for our largest loss-sensitive casualty clients. This position will join teammates currently supporting our underwriting team in the Northeast territory. Data analytics into data-driven discussions is a core to our service approach. This is a remote (or hybrid position depending on location to hub office) position. Client travel is expected (20%).

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.
QUALIFICATIONS
Highly motivated individual must have strong technical skills for casualty lines of business. Work experience in risk engineering is a must. Data analytics, strong working knowledge of MS Excel, consultative selling skills, and a broad-based knowledge of risk management and risk engineering technical disciplines will be necessary to be successful. Ability to deliver work through our technical specialists and newer virtual technologies necessary. Knowledge and use of wearables or imagery (IoT) desirable.
Additional qualifications include:
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university. Fields of study preferred: Safety Management, Risk Management and Insurance, Business Management, Engineering, or Science Majors.
- 7+ years of work experience and ability to provide exemplary service to large accounts.
- PE, CSP, ARM, or other professional designation required.*
- Ability to build relationships, implement solutions, and deliver results.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Overnight travel for sales and client meetings during the calendar year expected (20%).
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$130,400 - $195,600
