FUNCTIONAL TEAM
The Enterprise Network Operations Center monitors and manages The Hartford IT global network infrastructure, ensuring its smooth and secure operation, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other IT teams and vendors to resolve problems. The team is involved in working closely with application, infrastructure, database, and middleware teams to ensure a stable network. We use wide variety of tools in network monitoring such as SMARTS, Aruba SD-WAN, Arbor Enterprise, Splunk, ARX Riverbed, Cacti, Cloud Watch, ServiceNow to ensure that uptime and connectivity of the IT systems are operational 24/7.
We are looking for an Intern who is up to the challenge of learning processes and leveraging tools mentioned above to help innovate new ways of working. The ideal candidates have a strong desire to build organizational skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, intent to showcase effective root cause analysis and most importantly, willingness to reach the solution. As an Enterprise Network Operation Center intern, you will work directly with a high performing team conversing with various service tower teams across the enterprise.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in monitoring network trends (On-Prem & Cloud) and identifying opportunities to improve network performance availability utilizing SMARTS, Splunk, Arbor, River Bed, ServiceNow tools
• Assist in facilitating team meetings and capturing action items ex. DDoS mitigation communication messages to ISP vendors Lumen & Verizon, Communicate network related outages to stakeholders
• Assist with hands and feet activity ex. Network cabling, UPS replacement

• Technology focused curriculum preferred
• Teacher Recommendations preferred

LOCATION OF INTERNSHIP:
• One Hartford Plaza , NP2(ENOC Room)
o Remote/Onsite
WORKING TIME / SCHEDULE
• Monday - Friday, 20 hours. (Position is Part-Time, Temporary)
• Internship starts mid-June and runs through mid-August
• Working hours vary, typically 8:30AM - 5PM
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CONSIDERATIONS:
• Reliable Transportation (for on-site work, if required)
• Must satisfy employment eligibility requirements as established by The State of CT and pass required back-ground checks.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
