FUNCTIONAL TEAM

The Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) group provides a broad set of services ranging from facilitating strategic planning to ensuring our strategic investments deliver expected business outcomes while ensuring alignment with the approved budget. We use a broad set of project/ portfolio management tools such as Rally and Apptio as well as Microsoft Office suite for presentations and quantitative analysis.

We are looking for an Intern who is up to the challenge of learning and leveraging a variety of tools and processes to help innovate new ways of working. The ideal candidates have a strong desire to build organizational and customer facing skills. As a LPM intern, you will work directly with a high performing team assisting various LPM functions (financial analysis, portfolio assessment, agile metrics, operational metrics, etc.).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist developing work item backlogs and financial trackers

• Assist in facilitating team meetings and capturing action items

• Collaborating with teammates to resolve issues

• Develop and present status and communication material using MS PowerPoint

• Assist in analysis using MS Excel

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Self-motivated with mature, professional, and ethical conduct

• Excellent communicator, oral and written

• Eager to learn new things and apply the information quickly to different situations

• Analytical and decision-making abilities, problem solving skills

• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships

• Team oriented, collaborative and willing to accept feedback

• Effective time management and prioritization skills

• Focused on delivering a positive customer experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Technology focused curriculum preferred

• Teacher Recommendations preferred

• Engagement and leadership in school clubs, extracurricular activities, community, or volunteer enrichment events preferred

LOCATION OF INTERNSHIP:

• 1 Hartford Plaza Hartford, CT

o Virtual / Remote Work & Onsite

WORKING TIME / SCHEDULE

• Monday - Friday, 20 hours. (Position is Part-Time, Temporary)

• Internship starts mid-June and runs through mid-August

• Working hours vary, typically 8:30AM - 5PM

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CONSIDERATIONS:

• Reliable Transportation (for on-site work, if required)

• Must satisfy employment eligibility requirements as established by The State of Connecticut and pass required back-ground checks.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
