An opportunity awaits to join a motivated and energetic team providing FP&A support to Global Specialty, a $3 billion segment with presence in both US and International markets. This role will support the transformation of our expense process in addition to being responsible for annual budgeting, periodic forecasts, various analyses as well as engaging in ad-hoc requests and special projects across various specialty businesses.

Our ideal Consolidated Financial Analyst would be someone passionate about process improvement, driven to learn, and a highly collaborative teammate. The position requires strong partnership with both Business and Finance peers to provide financial support, strategic analysis, and business insight.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Support the design and implementation of expense transformation initiatives to streamline and optimize the expense management process.
  • Partner with business partners to develop 3-year forecasts for expenses, incorporating various drivers of cost
  • Drive continuous improvement in management reporting, metrics and forecasting, with a mindset for developing more predictive and prescriptive analytics while automating or eliminating low value activities.
  • Provide analytical support and financial guidance to business partners to improve and influence the decision-making process and to achieve operating plans/targets
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial results, providing variance analysis vs Budget and Prior Year, monitoring business trends and highlighting any risks/opportunities
  • Support production of Consolidated reporting packages and exhibits for Global Specialty Segment (Green Book and Blue Book)
  • Develop strong working relationships throughout the Global Specialty and Finance organizations; recommend solutions and help guide development and execution of the Global Specialty strategy.
  • Engage in ad-hoc analysis and special projects as directed by CFO, the business and other management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred. CPA or MBA a plus
  • 5+ years of financial or accounting experience
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners, and other finance peers
  • Proven track record of improving processes via a continuous improvement mindset
  • Intermediate Excel, PowerPoint and TM1 (or other enterprise reporting software) skills; EAEO cubes experience a plus
  • Self-motivated, performance driven, and detail oriented; ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven and multi-tasking environment; ability to lead through influencing.
  • Experience and/or desire to learn about use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies a plus.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$98,800 - $148,200
