The Hartford's Information Protection (THIP) organization is looking for a talented individual to join a high-performing team of Cybersecurity professionals who are charged with supporting and enhancing our core Identity and Access platforms. This role will provide thought leadership, professional support, and valued contributions to a range of cloud, operational production support, development and project activities. A Directory Services Engineer must foster constructive dialogue and seek resolution when confronted with discordant views. Engineers are expected to have a broad and deep security experience and will have accountabilities for architecting, designing, engineering, and implementing security solutions. Engineers in this role are expected to participate fully in the planning of IAM and Security work and constantly seek opportunities for process improvement.
As an IAM Security Engineer, you will be the technical expert responsible for supporting multiple IAM systems including Microsoft Active Directory, AWS IAM, Azure and others. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IAM concepts, best practices and emerging technologies to help ensure the security and integrity of our systems.
You will get to:
- Serve as the technical expert on AWS/Azure IAM related topics and provide guidance to the team
- Design and implement AWS IAM solutions to support business objectives
- Collaborate with Cross functional teams to ensure IAM solutions align with business needs
- Conduct research and evaluate emerging IAM technologies to make recommendations for future improvements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to IAM
- Support the existing IAM infrastructure
- Work closely with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams to ensure timely resolution of IAM related issues
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of IAM related standards, practices and procedures
Key job responsibilities
• Participate in the design, implementation, and deployment of software services that address IAM, Security and Compliance needs unique to AFT Fulfillment space.
• Collaborate with team members, SDMs, Principal Engineers, Program Managers and Operations leaders to envision and develop solutions that delight our end-users.
• Deliver high-quality software for the devices, services, and other infrastructure components to ensure their security and compliance with industry standards.
• Engage with developer community advocating and helping with the adoption of IAM solutions that raise the security bar while sharing your knowledge of the most effective performance, scalability, architecture, and engineering patterns and methods.
• Mentor team members, fostering their growth and development, while doing your part to maintain a culture of continuous learning within the software community.
• Maintain good documentation and be ready to disseminate it in a timely way to make it easier to track progress and identify any issues quickly
• Actively engage with customers, stakeholders, and industry experts, capturing customer security expectations for AI systems and incorporating them into the security bar.
• Influence builders to be better security owners, actively engaging with them to innovate faster and bring mechanisms for upholding the high security bar.
Required Qualifications
-5+ yrs of direct experience within IAM
-3+ yrs of hands on technical IAM engineering experience
-2+ yrs of hands on AWS IAM policy evaluation experience
-Proficiency in Python or equivalent programming language
-Experience with scripting and automation, REST API and data parsing
-Bachelors degree or equivalent IAM experience
-AWS Certified Security Specialty preferred
Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$120,960 - $181,440
