The Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Hartford, CT has the following opening for a Business Intelligence Engineer

Job Description: Integrate and aggregate complex data from multiple data sources and platforms that enhance customer access to information and promote a data driven culture. Quickly assemble meaningful data sets where none are available to answer complex business questions. Own the BI technology stack while partnering with the Enterprise Data Office to ensure the technologies and platforms Middle and Large Commercial relies on are available, stable, and delivering the necessary business value. Liaison to Enterprise technical partners in all matters concerning data management, data quality, and platform/servers that would impact Middle and Large Commercial. Build and foster relationships with Middle and Large Commercial's technical partners. Contribute to or act as the Middle and Large Commercial Data Steward, monitoring data quality, evaluating the completeness and strategic soundness from a business perspective of any requested warehouse enhancements. Work can be performed 100% remotely, reporting to headquarters in Hartford, CT.

Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or Technology (will accept 3 year or 4 year degree) and 3 years' experience in Commerce or related field and tools used for data exploration and Business Intelligence (e.g. Toad, SQL, Oracle, Alteryx, SAS, SSAS, R, Python, Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy). Employer will also accept an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. Must have experience in each of the following skills: SQL and Data Warehouse design and usage; Commercial data landscapes; Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems; Knowledge of version control concepts/software i.e. GIT or Turtoise Subversion; and Knowledge of big data tools, i.e. Hadoop, Hive, or Spark.

Salary Range: $97,600.00 - $146,400.00/year

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$97,600 - $146,400
