The Hartford's AI platform and accelerator team is seeking a product and delivery leader to supervise the portfolio, planning, execution, and delivery of AI products and platforms. This role aims to enhance the development, deployment, and management of AI and GenAI platforms, models, and solutions.
We are looking for an experienced leader to manage the AI product across the enterprise. In this crucial position, you will oversee the enterprise AI portfolio, managing prioritization and facilitating the construction of value-added solutions. Additionally, you will manage the product for the platform, including overseeing the product roadmap, prioritizing features, and making strategic decisions that balance business objectives with technological capabilities for AI solutions and platforms.

Collaboration with engineers and data scientists to define AI product specifications will be essential. You will also work closely with stakeholders and partner teams to ensure that the platform products align with the organization's AI vision and requirements.
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week. Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. Must be eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship
Responsibilities:
- Define product roadmaps and schedules for platform and accelerators teams to deliver AI and generative AI solutions using best practices and technologies in collaboration with technical and business teams. Ensure the roadmap aligns with the organization's strategic goals and customer needs.
- Continuously evolve and shape the roadmap and priorities in line with external developments, staying updated with the latest trends and advancements.
- Collaborate with technical leaders, stay informed about external developments, and propose the implementation of emerging capabilities that support organizational AI goals.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure product functionalities meet standards.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation. Oversee the product development process, ensuring compliance with budget, scope, and project timelines.
- Assist with portfolio management and participate in the leadership of enterprise-wide AI solutions, ensuring alignment with technological and operational needs, as well as the financial and business needs of the enterprise.
- Develop effective communication strategies and plans for the AI platform and accelerator teams. Ensure that team members, partners, and stakeholders are informed of the organization's strategy and initiatives in support of the business. Foster AI literacy and understanding of AI processes among stakeholder groups.
- Assist with vendor management, evaluate buy vs. build decisions regarding outsourcing vs. in-house provisioning of AI services and skills, negotiate contracts, and establish strategic relationships with key vendors, consultants, and partners.
- Establish and maintain a high level of customer and stakeholder trust and confidence in the team's knowledge of AI and attention to customers' business issues.
- Drive employee development by developing strategies to leverage people resources effectively, including external sourcing, recruiting, retention, training, and succession planning.
Qualifications:
- Over 15 years of experience as a Product Manager in a technology-driven field, preferably with direct exposure to AI product management
- Extensive background in technology-driven product management, with a preference for AI-related domains
- Proven ability to develop product strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
- Willingness to challenge existing processes and norms
- Strong bias for action
- Excellent teamwork skills with the capability to execute tasks with minimal supervision
- Established track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
- Strong leadership, self-motivation, collaboration, and influence skills; experienced in managing and negotiating with multiple stakeholders and priorities to achieve objectives
- Strategic thinker and planner, balancing long-term goals with short-term organizational needs
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with thorough attention to detail to drive results
- Strong project management capabilities and a drive-for-results mentality, with the ability to multi-task and make decisions in a business context
- Acts as a strong leader, mentor, and manager, skilled in evaluating, growing, and developing talent within the organization; able to assess skills and developmental needs of direct and indirect reports, providing appropriate coaching and guidance to maximize their contributions
- Proficient in negotiation to resolve differences while maintaining positive working relationships; demonstrates leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills in a highly matrixed environment
- Ability to collaborate and partner with business leaders and IT/Data Science teams
- Strong experience in leading Agile teams, and use of scaled agile frameworks
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$182,400 - $273,600
