Alumni Engagement Assistant (TEP Alumni Only)

The Alumni Engagement Program is working to increase alumni participation and better understand what alumni need most to create exciting and useful programming. Position Overview:

The Alumni Engagement Assistant position is essential to the alumni program’s development and requires great communication and leadership skills. The Alumni Engagement Assistant will help to confirm important alumni contact information and build long-lasting connections with alumni. The Alumni Engagement Assistant is expected to embody TEP’s Alumni Program’s vision and display grit and resilience throughout the projects assigned to them. The position is best suited for alumni who are currently in high school.

Note: Work hours would be determined based on the hire's school schedule and TEP’s hours of operation 8 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a line of communication with alumni and families through calls and texts,
  • Gather and update important alumni contact information 
  • Brainstorm academic and social programs to increase alumni engagement
  • Support with Social Media campaigns on Instagram and TikTok
  • Create flyers, surveys, and other supporting documents for marketing
  • Plan and coordinate fun events that will bring many alumni back to TEP  
  • Be an ambassador for TEP’s Alumni Office and varied initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to commit at least 8 hours a week from September 1, 2024 -  June 30, 2025 
  • Must be a TEP alumna/us (aka a TEP graduate!) and a current junior or senior in high school
  • Comfortable speaking with others over the phone, via email and in person
  • You are comfortable and knowledgeable about the latest social media trends 
  • You are a wizard at Google Docs, Sheets and Presentations
  • Have strong attention to detail 
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
  • Passionate about helping others and advocating for TEP’s Alumni Office

Accountability: Social Chair will report directly to TEP’s Director of Alumni Engagement, Kathryn McKenna.

Compensation: $15/hour

You as a Person: We often open up training sessions with a fun fact about ourselves, because getting to know each other is important to building our team and connecting on a personal level.  Share a little bit about yourself and why you would make a great TEP Alumni Engagement Assistant. Be sure to include one fun fact about YOU!
  2. Calls and Voicemails: Part of your role will be making calls to fellow alumni and their families to support program recruitment and event attendance. Write a call script to help recruit individuals to attend an upcoming Career and College Search event. Be creative! Share an idea for an event you would like to see and attend. Make sure to include in your call script the following elements: 
    1. Introduce yourself
    2. Provide the program details
    3. How to register 
    4. One impactful reason they should attend the event
