Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for testing and implementing software and hardware applications within the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission (MSLC).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to create and execute test scenarios

• Perform acceptance testing in a satisfactory manner

• Testing of all products, games and software

• Create relevant test data for all types of testing

• Complete testing on time

• Provide quality record keeping

• Forward bugs to appropriate people for resolution

• Assist in coordinating projects

• Review technical and user documentation for content and accuracy

• Review and update correct operations of on-line system

• Write software installation procedures

• Assist in identifying and solving problems on-line

• Assist programmers and users in documentation

• Assist and train operational staff in procedures

• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Assist other departments (Public relations, Hotline, Service, Agent Training, etc.)

• Maintaining all Quality Assurance systems on a daily basis

• Proofreading/ Testing of Bet slips, Instant tickets, Websites and Mobile applications

• Create and enhance unit/regression test infrastructure

• Perform manual and automated system tests

• Provides full guidance and direction of acceptability of Software

• Analyzing functional and technical specifications on a wide range of applications

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess a college degree in a Computer Science related field of study and/or have equivalent work experience.

• Well organized and able to express thoughts in a forthright manner

• Comprehensive verbal and written skills

• Reliable and dependable

• Positive attitude

• Technically strong in both hardware and software

• Knowledge of databases helpful

• Meticulous attention to detail

• Possess working knowledge of other systems

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of Windows

• Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX helpful

• One year's experience with testing and bug reporting software

• Ability to work well with others

• Knowledge of automated testing tools and experience within multiple platforms

• Willingness to take initiative
