Job Description

Duties:

Facilitate and oversee MassCor (Correctional Industries) needs through analysis of inventory control and production capacity to continually monitor areas for process improvement. Determine MassCor inventory controls through monthly, quarterly cycle counts, complete at minimum 1 full Physical Inventory count annually. Continuous onsite inspections of inventory control processes with all Industries operations. Evaluate inventory reports accordingly to control raw material waste and obsolescence. Coordinate and monitor manufacturing activities for ACA reporting and re-accreditation. Respond to inquiries from customers, staff and vendors in order to provide support for projects and processes as needed. Provide material support for all aspects of MassCor Total Business Solution. Interface with staff and vendors to determine inventory tracking requirements and production capacity. Provide training in accordance with 103 DOC 216 and support to MassCor staff as needed in order to ensure proper operations and updates to electronic database for inventory, and production tracking. Work with MassCor management to improve processes through analysis of data from MassCor Total Business Solution database. Assist with training Incarcerated Individuals as requested with MassCor TBS operating system. Will be required to travel to all Industries locations as needed. Other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

§ Strong judgment, analytic reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

§ Ability to balance multiple and competing priorities and deadlines, excellent organizational skills, and ability to track multiple projects/programs tasks

§ Strong communication skills

§ Experience in report writing, including strong ability to present written and graphic information clearly and effectively

§ Ability to determine the proper format and procedure for assembling items of information

§ Should be self-motivated able to work independently or as part of a team

§ Ability to understand and follow instructions precisely

Comments:

This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. Applicants must have no felony convictions, to include any actions defined in 5 U.S.C. 301; U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C. 15601-15609. The Massachusetts Department of Correction shall not hire anyone who may have direct contact with offenders, who has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997; or has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse, or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in the above paragraph. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents. The DOC urges bi-lingual applicants to apply.

Qualifications

First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.

II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.


*Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
