We are seeking a skilled trainer, preferably bilingual-Spanish, who will strengthen the family support workforce and play a vital role in the prevention of child abuse across the Commonwealth. The Prevention Trainer is responsible for curriculum development and training facilitation. This position will support ongoing community and partner training, including Child Abuse and Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, Strengthening Families, and other family support and prevention training. Trainings are provided in a variety of modalities and settings including, in-person, virtually, hybrid as part of presentations, conferences, and/or hosted on learning management systems.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Training Delivery

• Design and facilitate training to support statewide child abuse and neglect prevention efforts in a variety of modalities (virtual, in-person, hybrid, live, and recorded) on prevention topics, including but not limited to child abuse and child sexual abuse prevention, family support, Strengthening Families, and trauma informed and reflective practice.
• Assess the diverse needs of learners, considering learning differences, and utilize varied methods of training instruction and delivery to accommodate
• Stay current on the latest research on adult learning, training design and delivery, as well as content and integrate learnings to continually improve training modules
• Create learning environments that encourage active participation and foster deep learner engagement

2. Develops and Facilitates Communities of Practice

• Lead networking opportunities for learners following their training for ongoing support with practice, reflection and implementation including but not limited to the Supervisor Network, Coordinator Support Forum, etc.
• Provides ongoing professional development skill refresher opportunities for learners
• Provide in person and virtual trainer support through initiatives such as train-the-trainer sessions, community training programs, and engagement with contracted trainers
• Observes, analyzes, and makes recommendations on training implementation in the field

3. Curriculum Development & Resource Management

• Develop family-centered, relationship-focused, culturally relevant, and inclusive training modules, delivery methods and materials used to train the family support workforce
• Oversee the content, delivery, and organization of training content and materials
• Provide content expertise for staff and stakeholders by staying current on the latest research and trends in the fields of family support and child abuse prevention and integrate new research into existing and new curriculums
• Tailor materials to ensure relevant, accessible and effective by considering the needs of the audience, learning objectives, insights from program collaboration, current events, etc.
• Manage training materials, ensuring tools and technologies are up to date and prepared for each session.

4. Assess Learner Understanding

• Establish and implement assessments to measure training effectiveness, solicit learner feedback and gain insights to audience demand for additional trainings
• Reflect on trainings and incorporate data/feedback from participants to add/improve future training sessions, facilitation skills, etc.
• Analyze collected data, draw conclusions, present findings and provide recommendations for continuous improvement that may impact Training Institute objectives, measures and overall quality
• Support agency wide evaluation efforts

5. Consult with staff and partners around training best practices

• Support the process to transfer and monitor content/courses to a Learning Management System (LMS) and integrate data collected via LMS
• Provide feedback to management staff to aid in expansion efforts and strategic goal planning.
• Provide insight on training issues and potential effects on program implementation to ensure all issues are considered in program, training and conference planning.
• Participate in development and review of policies and strategies for CSAP programs.
• Represent the Children's Trust on advisory councils and workgroups, as assigned
• Partner with internal staff and external entities to gather information, feedback, and data to ensure trainings and conferences are responsive and connected to needs in the field
• Share data/feedback from learners to stakeholders that may lead to program improvements and quality assurance

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Experience delivering training to participants with a diverse range of experience and education
• Knowledge of adult learning principles
• Ability to develop training curriculum and materials
• Strengths-based mindset and approach to working with families
• Knowledge of child sexual abuse prevention, family support, and/or parent education
• Experience in the family support workforce
• Experience with Learning Management Systems
• Ability to establish positive relationships with diverse stakeholders and staff
• Ability to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to prepare and analyze of charts, graphs, and tables.
• Knowledge of the methods of general report writing.
• Ability to understand, explain, apply and follow laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards, and guidelines
• Ability to gather, analyze and determine the applicability of data, to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.

II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.


III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
