Position Summary

The IT System Administrator as a member of the Information Technology department provides computer-related technical support to MDAO staff office-wide, including Assistant District Attorneys, Victim Witness Advocates, Paralegals, and other professional staff. This position includes responding to calls as part of the IT helpdesk, processing all user account changes, & assisting with the support of all computer/server hardware.

The IT Systems Administrator reports to the Director of IT

Primary Responsibilities

• General User Support

• Active Directory/Microsoft 365 Account Administration

• Server & Enterprise Storage Support

• Desktop, Laptop & MS Surface Administration

• Phone System Administration

• Printer/Scanner/Copier Support

• Additional duties assigned to the Information Technology department as required

Qualifications

Requirements:

We seek a dependable and motivated candidate with the following skills, qualities, and experience:

  • Applicant must have at least five years of Information Technology experience; Bachelor's degree in MIS or related field may be substituted for the two years of the required experience
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service though friendly and effective written/verbal communication
  • A demonstrated self-starter with solid technical problem-solving, research, & troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to complete project work within time restraints, despite regular interruptions from staff needing technical assistance
  • Ability to provide helpdesk coverage & perform project/maintenance work outside of regular business hours as needed (nights/weekends)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of hardware components; laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, servers, networking
  • Knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11), Microsoft Server 2012/2016/2019/2022, M365/Active Directory administration, Microsoft Group Policy, & Microsoft Office Suite 2016/2019/O365
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/Vcenter administration
  • Experience with Enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies
  • Ability to lift/push 65Lbs & move/install computer equipment in an office environment
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, as travel across Middlesex County may be required
  • A background check is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Dell EMC Storage Technologies (Powerstore, Powervault, Compellent)
  • Experience writing Powershell & automating I.T. related tasks
  • Familiarity with Mitel Phone Systems
