PUBLIC PROTECTION & ADVOCACY BUREAU
INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated person to join her team as an Investigator in the Investigations Division. The Investigations Division provides civil investigative support to other divisions across four bureaus within the Attorney General's Office. Consequently, staff are required to handle a wide variety of investigative tasks

Primary Duties: Provide investigative support and assistance for investigations and enforcement actions in areas of consumer protection, insurance and financial services, civil rights, civil litigation, health care, and environmental protection, among others. The Investigator often plays a behind-the-scenes role in supporting a number of active investigations. Responsibilities include:
• locating and interviewing victims and witnesses, subjects of investigation, and others;
• obtaining, reviewing, and evaluating documentary evidence from numerous sources, including individuals, corporations, federal, state, county, and municipal agencies;
• conducting surveillance, background checks, and asset checks;
• writing reports and information summaries;
• testifying at trials or hearings and before the grand jury; and
• performing related work as required.

Position Type: Full-time/Non-Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for
most positions.

Location: This position may be based in the Boston Office, Springfield Regional Office, Worcester
Regional Office, or New Bedford Regional Office. Office location will be determined based on the
candidate's expressed preference and space availability. For a candidate based in Springfield,
Worcester, or New Bedford Regional Office, travel to the AGO's Boston Office is expected approximately 1-3 times per month.

Salary: $63,180 - $70,000, commensurate with experience

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required. Applicants should have a minimum of two years' experience in at least one of the following areas: civil investigations, fraud investigations, financial backgrounds, conducting in-depth interviews, or locating individuals. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, online database research, and researching land records, court records, and social media platforms is required. Experience testifying under oath is a plus. Experience with financial investigations, including bank statement analysis, is a plus. Familiarity with cryptocurrency is also a plus. Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

The Investigator will be required to travel as needed to other areas of the Commonwealth in support of investigations. A valid driver's license is required.
