Job Description
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is seeking to hire an intern to support the Commissioners. This role will assume several administrative responsibilities and will assist with special projects. The duration of the internship will end on 6/30/2025.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist with broad administrative needs, including document management, technological assistance, proofreading and photocopying, transmitting documents, and more.
- Screen telephone calls and email messages.
- Track and manage constituent/stakeholder comments received by the MGC.
- Support/assist in the preparation and development of documents (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and presentations (PowerPoint).
- Assist in the tracking of legislation related to the duties of the MGC.
- Support the execution of the Commission's public meetings and hearings.
- Assist with the drafting and distribution of correspondence on behalf of the Interim Chair and Executive Director.
- Assist and/or manage special projects at the direction of the Interim Chair and Executive Director.

Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions and perform tasks assigned in a timely manner in accordance with applicable guidelines, policies and law.
- Proven organizational and time-management sills
- Ability to effectively execute multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced/dynamic office environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal; excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editing skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Experience, Education, and Training:
- 1-2 years of prior work experience, or previous professional or educational work internship experience, or current enrollment in full or part-time educational or professional development programming or B.A. degree or equivalent experience and/or certification.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate must pass an extensive background check, including a CORI and compliance agreement.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is responsible for implementing the expanded gaming law (Chapter 194 of the Acts of 2011). Under the law, the Commission is tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the solicitation, licensing, taxation, and oversight of a maximum of three casino licenses and one slots parlor license in Massachusetts.
