Job Description
The Massachusetts Veterans Home at Chelsea (MVH) is a long-term care facility for veterans that is recognized by the US Department of Veteran Affairs, licensed by the MA Department of Public Health, Certified by the CMS and managed by the Executive Office of Veterans Services. The home provides a full range of skilled long term care services and programs along with ancillary services.
MVH at Chelsea is currently seeking an Informatics Program Coordinator to join their team. In this role you will plan, develop, and conduct training programs; assess training needs and evaluate program results; consult technical and professional personnel on the planning and implementation of training programs; and perform related work as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with IT on-boarding and off-boarding for new hires and current staff
- Assist with tracking staff technology needs
- Desktop/Devices distribution and operability
- Direct responsibility on two (2) EMR committees with regard to data collection and upcoming training needs, to include researching and locating a 3rd party company to do onsite basic computer training (included in the EMR budget). Assist with redesigns of programs, focusing on the Shared Drive
- Lead for facility-wide scheduling software procurement process, demo, and implementation
- Follow up with IT issues after implementation
- Identify bottlenecks in Home's informatics processes
- Identifying device needs to assist the home through all the different projects
- Continue managing Badge security and creation
- HealthStream and PolicyTech Implementation
- Mandatory State Training's, inputting all the data into Mass Achieve for most employees
- All network requests and changes to current staff's needs for additional access for all IT areas
- Ordering and obtaining cell phones, completing appropriate request forms
- Working with IT to create on-boarding templates for all positions
- Clean up and maintenance of the Home's Shared Drive since security has been an issue with regard where files are located, who has access to what areas, etc.
- Developing a system for off-boarding of staff from a technology/security standpoint
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to maintain accurate and organized records and create reports
- Ability to supervise, to include planning and assigning work according to the nature of the job being accomplished; ability to coordinate the efforts of others in accomplishing assigned work objectives

About the Massachusetts Veterans Home at Chelsea:
The Massachusetts Veterans Home (MVH) at Chelsea is an independent state agency that organizationally report to the Secretary of the Executive Office of Veterans Services (EOVS). The Veterans Homes are owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and address the needs of a wide variety of veterans, including long term care and domiciliary services meeting the veteran residents' care and psychosocial needs. The care and services provided by MVH are supported by a staff of approximately 450; representing physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, aides, social workers, recreation therapist, physical and occupational therapy, speech language pathology, educators, building trades, dietary, housekeeping, managers, support staff, consultants and contractors. The tradition of service to the veterans of Massachusetts is surpassed only by a continued commitment to excellence in care for those who are in need now and in the future.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.
II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.
III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
