Job Description
The Military Division (Massachusetts National Guard) is seeking a professional for the role of Program Housing Specialist I. The selected candidate for this role will be responsible for providing low cost, quality, transient billeting to both military and DoD Civilians traveling on government funded Housing orders and to entitled guests. They will conduct inspections of quarters to evaluate the cleanliness, maintenance, and habitability of the quarters, associated with furnishings, the care and equipment, upkeep and of associated unoccupied facilities. This position is located out of Camp Edwards, Massachusetts.
The basic purpose of this work is to oversee and upkeep of furniture and maintaining government equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in facility management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects unoccupied facilities and prepares appropriate housing area reports
- Develops lifecycle replacement plan for all furnishing in unoccupied housing facilities
- Communicates with vendors/contractors in order of new replacement furniture Coordinates with staff members vendors/contractors on delivery and installation of new replacement furnishings
- Surveys for deficiencies, corroborates findings with other team members, and prepares recommendations for correction of observed deficiencies
- Serve as the point of contact for facility such as maintenance FE Work, Order repair Forms, chargeable transient quarters reports
- Primary point of contact for all facility reservations
- Preform additional duties as assigned
ABOUT OUR AGENCY
The Massachusetts Guard has a unique dual mission, with both federal and state responsibilities. During peacetime, Guard forces are commanded by the Governor through the State Adjutant General. The Governor can call the Guard into action during local or state-wide emergencies, such as storms, floods, blizzards, and civil disturbances. In addition, the President of the United States can activate the Massachusetts National Guard to participate in federal missions. The Massachusetts National Guard's mission is to be trained and ready to provide units that can mobilize for any contingency, at home or abroad. Qualifications
Desired Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of the fundamental principles, techniques, and methodology related to the scheduling, coordinating operation and efficient utilization quarters and facilities
- General knowledge of acceptable work standards associated with the repair, maintenance, improvement of facilities, equipment, furnishings, and other housing assets
- Knowledge to of maintain safety accurate regulations, records. practices, and procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to prepare general reports
- Ability to communicate general effectively

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in real estate management, property management, public housing program management, public housing program development or public housing program administration, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. An Associate's degree with a major in real estate, public administration, business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in real estate, public administration, business administration or business management may be substituted for the required experience.
Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
Special Requirements: Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's License may be required.
