The Computer Department within the Office of the State Treasurer and Receiver General is looking for a motivated and self-driven Information Technology (IT) Intern to join our team. Under the supervision of IT Helpdesk Manager, the IT Intern will assist our in-house PC & Network Support team in providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware and software used by various departments within Treasury. The successful candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues and assist with the implementation of new technologies as needed.
Information Technology (IT) Intern Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to all users on hardware and software-related issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and mobile devices.
- Monitor service request queue and assist other IT staff in completing those requests.
- Follow established procedures to maintain IT hardware inventory for all equipment.
- Provide assistance to users with the use of computer systems and software when required.
- Perform system maintenance to apply Windows/Firmware updates as needed.
- Research, recommend, and document solutions for technical problems.
Qualifications
Information Technology (IT) Intern Requirements and Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in the field of Information Technology (Undergraduate) preferred.
- Knowledge of basic computer systems and software desired
- Knowledge of basic computer network, system security, and antivirus desired.
- Knowledge of mobile device configuration (iPhone and iPad) preferred.
- Familiarity with hardware and software installation
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to work as part of a team or independently if required.
- Able to lift some lightweight equipment (PCs and Laptops)

Work Schedule:
The internship program will allow you to work Monday through Friday (except for holidays) with 15-hour (150 hours Max) minimum work week from June to August for a minimum of 8 weeks to a maximum of 10 weeks.
Compensation:
The hourly pay for high school interns will be $14/hour ($2,100/intern); for undergraduate interns $18/hour ($2,700/intern); for graduate interns $22/hour ($3,300/intern).
