Job Description:
This internship position will support the Energy Efficiency Division in its work on the Commonwealth's recently updated building energy codes and the development of programs and policies to decarbonize existing buildings
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of educational materials related to building energy retrofit and decarbonization projects in existing buildings, and adaptive reuse projects to create new housing.
- Conduct analysis to support the implementation of statewide building energy reporting and rebate programs
- Develop a system to manage and respond to constituent inquires relating to building energy code
- Participate in division internal and external meetings
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Interest in building energy and climate policy
- Interest in engineering, architecture, planning or energy policy
- Good analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office- particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Research experience
- Knowledge of building energy modeling and HVAC systems is a plus

Hours per week:
- Full time - 37.5 hours per week
- This position is partially remote with a hybrid schedule that includes a minimum of one day in-office per week
Other relevant information:
- Contracted Student Internship compensation will be up to $23/hour for College Undergraduate Students and up to $35/hour for Graduate Students
- Internship duration June 2 - August 15
